The cooperative AVEBE U.A. is a world-wide provider of products based on potato starch and potato protein for applications in food, animal feed, paper, construction, textile, and adhesives.

For the new central reaction department of the food product factory VMF of Avebe in Ter Apelkanaal, officially opened in October 2014, Stevens Engineering performed the civil engineering and mechanical engineering activities. During construction, Stevens Engineering conducted construction management and was closely involved in the start-up and optimisation of the new installation.
